The Connected Father
Workshop
Communicating with your partner
in the first year of parenting.
The first year with a baby is the highest-stakes season of your relationship. Most couples drift apart without realizing it. This workshop is built so yours doesn't.
You're doing your best. Something still feels off.
You love your partner. You love your kid. You're showing up, you're trying — and somehow conversations still end badly. There's a distance that wasn't there before, and you're not sure if you're the problem or if this is just what it's supposed to feel like.
It's not a sign your relationship is broken. It's a sign you're inside one of the most disruptive transitions a couple goes through — and nobody gave you a map. Sleep deprivation, identity shift, new responsibilities, and almost no time alone with your partner. It's the perfect storm for disconnection.
The good news: this isn't about love. It's about skill. Specifically, the skill of communication under pressure — and those skills can be learned.
Most men don't lack the desire to show up well. They lack the tools. That's what this workshop is for.
In 90 minutes, you'll walk away with practical frameworks and real scripts — things you can use the same night. No therapy jargon. No abstract concepts. Just tools that work.
Any of this sounds like your life right now.

I've sat with hundreds of men navigating exactly this.
I'm David Redish — a licensed psychotherapist, husband, and father. For years I've specialized in men's work, fatherhood, and couples therapy. I've sat across from countless fathers who were trying hard and still felt like they were failing.
The patterns are consistent. The disconnection isn't about love — it's about skill. Specifically, the skills of communication under stress, of understanding your partner's emotional world, and of staying present when everything in you wants to retreat.
Those skills can be learned in a room with other dads who are in the same season. That's what I built this workshop to be.
90 minutes. Real tools. No therapy-speak.
Welcome & Orientation
Setting the container — a judgment-free, confidential space where men can actually be honest. Who's here, what we're doing, and why it matters.
Common Communication Challenges
Misaligned expectations. Unspoken needs. The fights about sleep and chores that are never really about sleep and chores. We name them so you can see them coming.
Masculine & Feminine Polarity
Understanding the different energy systems at play in your partnership — and how to work with them instead of against them.
Conversation Tools That Work
Active listening, mirroring, naming emotions without blame, "I" statements, and the energy check — knowing when to engage and when to pause.
Navigating the Hard Topics
Sleep. Household responsibilities. Intimacy. Conflict resolution. A practical framework for the conversations most couples avoid until it's too late.
