A Workshop for New Fathers · witnessingyou.com

The Connected Father
Workshop

Communicating with your partner
in the first year of parenting.

The first year with a baby is the highest-stakes season of your relationship. Most couples drift apart without realizing it. This workshop is built so yours doesn't.

90 minutes  ·  $97  ·  David Redish, LPCC

You're doing your best. Something still feels off.

You love your partner. You love your kid. You're showing up, you're trying — and somehow conversations still end badly. There's a distance that wasn't there before, and you're not sure if you're the problem or if this is just what it's supposed to feel like.

It's not a sign your relationship is broken. It's a sign you're inside one of the most disruptive transitions a couple goes through — and nobody gave you a map. Sleep deprivation, identity shift, new responsibilities, and almost no time alone with your partner. It's the perfect storm for disconnection.

The good news: this isn't about love. It's about skill. Specifically, the skill of communication under pressure — and those skills can be learned.

Most men don't lack the desire to show up well. They lack the tools. That's what this workshop is for.

In 90 minutes, you'll walk away with practical frameworks and real scripts — things you can use the same night. No therapy jargon. No abstract concepts. Just tools that work.

Any of this sounds like your life right now.

01 Conversations keep ending badly — about sleep, chores, intimacy — and you're not sure why.
02 You feel like you can't do anything right no matter how hard you try.
03 You've gone quiet because it feels safer than saying the wrong thing.
04 You miss your partner — you miss feeling like a team — and you don't know how to get back there.
05 You want to show up better in your relationship but don't always know what that looks like in practice.
06 You're willing to go first — to make the bid for connection — even when it's uncomfortable.

Not sure if this is right for you? The free guide is a good place to start.

David Redish LPCC therapist for fathers

I've sat with hundreds of men navigating exactly this.

I'm David Redish — a licensed psychotherapist, husband, and father. For years I've specialized in men's work, fatherhood, and couples therapy. I've sat across from countless fathers who were trying hard and still felt like they were failing.

The patterns are consistent. The disconnection isn't about love — it's about skill. Specifically, the skills of communication under stress, of understanding your partner's emotional world, and of staying present when everything in you wants to retreat.

Those skills can be learned in a room with other dads who are in the same season. That's what I built this workshop to be.

90 minutes. Real tools. No therapy-speak.

01

Welcome & Orientation

Setting the container — a judgment-free, confidential space where men can actually be honest. Who's here, what we're doing, and why it matters.

02

Common Communication Challenges

Misaligned expectations. Unspoken needs. The fights about sleep and chores that are never really about sleep and chores. We name them so you can see them coming.

03

Masculine & Feminine Polarity

Understanding the different energy systems at play in your partnership — and how to work with them instead of against them.

04

Conversation Tools That Work

Active listening, mirroring, naming emotions without blame, "I" statements, and the energy check — knowing when to engage and when to pause.

05

Navigating the Hard Topics

Sleep. Household responsibilities. Intimacy. Conflict resolution. A practical framework for the conversations most couples avoid until it's too late.

90 Minutes of
focused work
5 Core frameworks
with real scripts

Real feedback from real dads.

I came in skeptical. I left with three things I actually used that week with my wife. The conversation about intimacy had never felt possible before — now we have a way to start it.
Marcus T.
Father of a 4-month-old
David makes it feel safe to be honest. I've never been in a space with other dads where we could actually talk about struggling. That alone was worth it.
James R.
Father of twins, 7 months
My wife noticed a difference in how I was listening. I didn't tell her I'd done the workshop — she just said I seemed more present. That's all I needed to hear.
Derek M.
Second-time father

Everything you need to know.

Do I need to be in crisis for this to be useful?
Not at all. Most attendees aren't in crisis — they sense the drift and want to get ahead of it. This workshop is most powerful when things are still good but you want to make them great.
Is this therapy?
No. This is an educational workshop led by a licensed therapist. It's skill-building, not treatment. If you're looking for individual or couples therapy, David offers that separately.
My partner wants to join — is that okay?
This workshop is designed specifically for fathers. A couples version is in development. For now, this is your space to prepare — so you can show up better in the relationship.
What if I can't make it live?
A full replay is included with enrollment. You'll have access to rewatch anytime, plus all the materials from the session.
My baby is older than 1 year — is this still for me?
Yes. The first year is the focus, but the frameworks apply well beyond that season. If the patterns described sound familiar, this workshop will help.
How is this different from reading a book?
You practice. A book gives you information. This gives you a live environment to apply it — with guidance from a licensed clinician and honest reflection with other dads in the same season.

Your relationship deserves
a father who showed up.

The fact that you're here means you already care more than most. Take the next step and get the tools to match. A free guide is waiting if you're not ready to enroll — start there.
