David Redish LPCC contemplative psychotherapist Boulder CO
David Redish, LPCC · Psychotherapist · Boulder, CO

Husband. Father.
Contemplative therapist.

Companion on the road.

I believe healing happens when we feel truly seen — and I've spent over 15 years learning what it takes to hold that kind of space.

I'm not observing this work from a distance. I'm living it.

Two kids under five. A marriage I'm actively tending. The 2am wake-ups, the identity questions, the profound love and profound exhaustion happening sometimes in the same hour.

I'm a contemplative psychotherapist based in Boulder, Colorado — and the fact that I'm in the thick of fatherhood and partnership alongside my clients isn't incidental. It's central to how I show up.

I work with dads, couples, and individuals navigating deep life transitions — fatherhood, relationship strain, grief, anxiety, and the integration of non-ordinary experiences including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. My approach is warm, unhurried, and presence-based.

Therapy here isn't about fixing problems. It's about reconnecting — to yourself, to the people you love, to what actually matters.

In a world that moves fast,
being truly seen changes everything.

The name comes from something I've observed again and again in this work. People don't just need advice, or techniques, or diagnoses. They need to have their experience fully named and held — to feel that what they're carrying is real, and that someone is actually with them in it.

My clients often tell me they feel more whole simply by having been witnessed. Not fixed. Not managed. Witnessed.

That's what I offer. A space that's relational, steady, and deeply human. You don't have to do this alone.

Clinically grounded. Contemplatively rooted.
A Boulder therapist with 15 years of lived practice.

I hold an MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology from Naropa University — a program that trained me in mindfulness-based, somatic, and relational approaches to healing. I'm a Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a filmmaker — a path that deeply informs my appreciation for the nonlinear, creative process of inner work. I've spent over 15 years in my own practice — in therapy rooms, meditation halls, and plant medicine ceremonies — and I bring that lived experience alongside my clinical training.

I'm not a fixer. I'm a companion on the road.

I hold space for people to actually feel — to be strong and soft, rooted and willing to fall apart when falling apart is what's needed.

The rest of the picture.

I'm a father to two young children, a dog lover, and someone who finds restoration in nature, playing music, and contemplative practice.

I know firsthand the complexity of balancing care for others with staying connected to yourself — the weight of responsibility, the identity questions, the way love and exhaustion can coexist in the same moment.

That experience shapes how I show up as a therapist in Boulder. Human to human. Not from behind a clinical distance, but from the same road — just a few steps ahead, holding a light.
